Student Wellbeing Party orchestrate extravaganza of activities during International Happiness Day

The Student Wellbeing Party orchestrated an extravaganza of activities aimed at lifting our spirits and spreading boundless joy across Durham Sixth Form Centre, in celebration of International Happiness Day on Wednesday 20th March.

One of the highlights of the week was the creation of a vibrant mural in the VAC (Visual Arts Centre), a masterpiece that radiated positivity and creativity. Students poured energy into this collaborative effort, turning blank walls into a visual ode to happiness and positive affirmations.

Another highlight was the Arts Lunches, accompanied by delicious pizzas, where students gathered to express their creativity, both through badge making and mark making. It was a feast for both the stomach and the creative soul. Whether you were a seasoned artist or just trying your hand at something new, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

In addition to spreading happiness, the Student Wellbeing Party also made a significant impact by raising money through donations for Sunderland Mind. A noble mission to support mental health initiatives in our region. Every penny raised will contribute towards mental health support in the North East, reaffirming our commitment to supporting one another through challenging times.

Of course, who could forget the furry heroes of the week – the Therapy Dogs! With their wagging tails and gentle nuzzles, these four-legged companions provided a much-needed dose of canine delight. Their presence brought comfort and warmth to all who crossed their path, reminding us of the simple joys of life.
