Darlington Economic Campus Visit

As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2025, a group of our Year 12 and Year 13 Business and Economics students attended an engaging apprenticeship festival at the Darlington Economic Campus (DEC). The event provided valuable insights into civil service career pathways and highlighted the diverse range of apprenticeship opportunities available within DEC.

The day began with a panel discussion featuring current DEC apprentices (including DSFC alumni Dylan Bowater and Andy Hollis), who shared their personal journeys and offered glimpses into their daily work lives. Students then participated in an interactive carousel activity, enabling them to engage in detailed discussions about specific apprenticeship roles.

DEC offers an impressive range of opportunities, from degree apprenticeships in Economics, Data Science, Social Research, and Accountancy, to professional apprenticeships in Business Administration, Human Resources, Policy, and Marketing. This event gave our students first-hand exposure to these exciting career paths within the civil service.
