Application Process

Studying at Durham Sixth Form Centre is exciting, challenging and very rewarding. Each year, over 1500 students apply to study with us in Year 12. For some, it is the great location, for others, the excellent results, the adult atmosphere or the change from school.

Whatever your reason, we would welcome an application from you for enrolment in September 2025. Our deadline for applications is Wednesday 30th April 2025.

Entry Requirements

There are a range of courses and pathways available to you as a student at Durham Sixth Form Centre depending on your GCSE results and academic profile.

In order to enrol with us as a student, you must have GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics both at a minimum of Grade 4 and a minimum of 5 GCSE qualifications at Grade 5 or above overall. In addition, individual subjects have specific entry requirements, which will be discussed with you during the application and enrolment process.

Open Events

Every year, we offer a wide range of events to support you to make a smooth transition from secondary school to post-16 education.

These events are intended to help welcome you to Durham Sixth Form Centre, as well as to support you in choosing the right progression routes and courses.

Our next Open Evening will be on Thursday 10th April 2025, between 4:30pm and 7:30pm.

Enrolment 2025

Enrolment will take place on 26/27/28 August 2025.

You will receive an enrolment pack which details all of the relevant information for starting with us early July.
