A Levels, or Advanced Level qualifications, are subject-based qualifications that are typically studied over two years. They are taken after GCSEs and are a natural progression for students in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Alongside A Levels there are a variety of vocational courses you can choose to study at Durham Sixth Form Centre. These provide learners with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills, preparing them for further study or entry into the workforce, and are equivalent to our A Level courses.
The Foundation Diploma in Art & Design develops core skills and critical thinking and gives students experience of progression routes within Art and Design. Following a period of exploration, students specialise in an area they would like to pursue at degree level or within the world of work.
The Foundation course helps students find new and exciting ways of learning and encourages risk taking, experimentation and exploration of their artistic practice.
